Product Design and Development

Introduction

The field of Product Design and Development is critical to creating innovative products that meet customer needs, manufacturing requirements, and market demands. This 5-day training course focuses on the comprehensive process of taking an idea from concept to production, exploring each phase from initial research and ideation to prototyping, testing, and final production.

Participants will gain the necessary skills to navigate the stages of product development using modern tools, methodologies, and techniques that align with industry standards. The course integrates principles from design thinking, user-centered design, and agile development to ensure participants are prepared to lead successful product development projects in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world.

Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the complete product development lifecycle, from concept to final production.
  2. Apply design thinking methodologies to generate creative solutions and enhance user experience.
  3. Utilize CAD and 3D modeling tools to develop detailed product designs.
  4. Conduct market and user research to understand customer needs and translate them into actionable design requirements.
  5. Develop prototypes to test and refine product concepts.
  6. Use agile development techniques to manage product design and development processes efficiently.
  7. Understand the principles of design for manufacturability (DFM) and sustainability.
  8. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and manufacturing, for successful product launch and production.
